Lighthouse Autism Center Joins Hannah and Friends for 1st Annual 5K Fundraiser
Some may say it was a perfect day for a race…
What started out as an event organized by two Adams High School students sprung from the love they have for their aunt turned into a rallying of the community on a personal and professional level.
On June 29, 2013 Hannah and Friends held their first annual 5K Race fundraiser and Lighthouse was fortunate enough to be part of it. We were delighted to get the opportunity to meet a number of people from the community at the LAC table, we thank you all for giving us the chance to meet and talk to you. More than 400 people participated in the event. There is something incredible about being part of an event were people get involved because it is something that touches their heart. Autism impacts everyone, not just the person diagnosed with it but those that love them and those that are a part of their community.
Our staff also took part in the event competing in the 5K run and the 1 mile walk. At Lighthouse we believe that the two things that are need to help children with autism reach their fullest potential are quality ABA therapy and creating a strong supportive environment (at home and in the community). The only way to create that supportive environment is to get involved and work together.
Thank you Hannah and Friends for an incredible event and letting us be a part of it! We look forward to next year!
Together, we can unlock your child’s potential
