My name is Gregg Maggioli and along with my wife Sandy we founded Lighthouse Autism Center (LAC). Children with autism are very near and dear to our hearts. Sandy and I have a son, Victor who was diagnosed with Autism in 2003. We understand the struggle that you go through as a parent when you are told that your child has autism. We understand the frustration of feeling helpless — that there is no one out there to help your child reach his/her potential. This is why we created Lighthouse Autism Center.
When our son was diagnosed we were fortunate enough to have access to a wonderful center which offered ABA therapy in Carmel, Indiana. This intensive center based therapy has made a huge difference in our son Victor’s life. Sandy and I spent eight years volunteering at the center. I served as Chairman of the Board and Sandy held a variety of positions. We were able to grow from a center that served 4 children to servicing more than 40 children in two locations. In 2011 this center was recognized with the Excellence in Direct Care Award by the Autism Society of Indiana.
Mishawaka is my home town and when it came to our attention that the Michiana area did not have a center like the one in Carmel, Indiana we began meeting with local autism advocates to better understand the needs of the community. It quickly became apparent an intensive ABA center was needed in the Michiana community — we needed to offer the children in Michiana the same opportunities that our son had received.
In December of 2011 Sandy and I left our volunteer positions at the Carmel center and decided to open Lighthouse Autism Center in May, 2012.
We offer you Lighthouse Autism Center. A quality intensive center based therapy program. We offer hope for every child, every family.
