Lighthouse Autism Center is passionate about educating the local community about autism. Take a look at the free training that we offer local community organizations and healthcare professionals.
Autism 101 Training
At Lighthouse Autism Center, we are passionate about providing resources and training to expand the caring and compassionate autism community network. We offer free training and community autism resources to any local community organization or healthcare provider looking to better understand how to support and advocate for those with autism. Sessions are led by our highly trained and experienced team of BCBAs and involve information on the signs and characteristics of autism, appropriate interactions, and de-escalation techniques.
These sessions are tailored to specific organizations, such as first responders, police departments, medical facilities, libraries, and more. Participants are invited to ask our clinical team about specific situations or questions and we offer a free autism resource kit with each presentation. This kit includes materials that may allow individuals on the spectrum to meet their sensory needs and aid in simple communication.
Our autism community trainings and resources go a long way in decreasing the isolation among young people on the spectrum. Increased community resources for autism awareness lead to a larger community autism network base with a deeper understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders.

Enhanced Collaboration
Knowledgeable community members can work more effectively with families, educators, and professionals. This collaborative approach can lead to better support systems and more cohesive efforts in addressing the needs of individuals with autism.
Empowerment and Advocacy
Trainings can empower participants to advocate for individuals with autism, promoting policies and practices that are more inclusive and supportive. This can also encourage more community-driven initiatives and support networks.
Reduced Misunderstandings
Understanding autism can help prevent misinterpretations of behaviors that are characteristic of the disorder, reducing frustration and fostering a more empathetic approach.
Early Identification and Support
