We would like to say “Thank You” for all that you do with our little buddy Aidan. We’ve seen so much progress since has started at Lighthouse that it is hard for us to mention everything. The first thing is that he loves going to Lighthouse, and loves his therapists, although he will occasionally feign an illness to stay home. This was not the case with public school. Everyday was a battle to get him to school. We are so thankful that we learned of the center when we did.
When Aidan was first officially diagnosed with Autism at 3 years old, we were not sure what to expect for his future. He didn’t make eye contact, he didn’t speak, he cried and threw himself on the floor at least 3x daily, he hit all the time and banged his head all the time. His interpersonal skills since starting at Lighthouse have skyrocketed. Aidan is doing so much better starting and holding conversations, maintaining eye contact and answering questions. He is much more tolerant of his brother and sister and we adore that he loves his baby sister sooo much, as evident of all the pictures he colors for her. Our vision of Aidan’s future is so much brighter now. As parents, we will always worry, but it is much less now.
We are very happy that he has started to expand his diet. We only have to make taco meat approximately once a week now, instead of every 3 days! We would also like everyone to know that he does practice his dance moves every evening. I don’t know the stakes of the Xbox dance-offs that you have, but he is very serious about it. He is quite proud of his superman move and we’ve even noticed him dancing in the shower.
Thank you sooo much for your commitment to children with Autism. Please know that without you, many children would be facing very different outcomes.
