One year ago we dropped our daughter off at Lighthouse Autism Center for the first time. Despite knowing it was the right place for her to be, Eric and I were both a nervous wreck. Never did we imagine our daughter (who has stranger danger and had never been away from us) would, within weeks, not shed a tear when dropped off .. within months would run to her therapists without even looking back and after a year she actually would do better during the week when she goes to school then she does on weekends when she isn’t able to go. We couldn’t have asked for a better place for our daughter to be everyday. Each and every therapist shows their passion for what they do and the change that we have seen in her the last year is remarkable.
Eric and I wanted to let everyone know how much we appreciate the love and care that you all show our daughter. Many of you have gone above and beyond to make us and her feel comfortable and to make Brielle happy. It is wonderful to have such a wonderful place full of people that understand Brielle instead of judge her. As parents that is one of the number one blessings we can ask for. Thank you and continue to do the great work that you do with all of these children! The world needs more people just like all of you!

Approximately 12 years ago, I was asked by close family friends if I would want to help out for a day, assisting with their newborn triplets —- just home from the hospital.
I have been blessed with very special relationships with the three girls. Ginny has always been a sweet, affectionate little soul who has overcome many challenges in her short lifetime.
The last six months have been such a huge blessing for Ginny. I have witnessed each year of her life…. so many therapies and classrooms. Last year I felt Ginny was “lost” at school. She was not challenged, and often left on her own at her desk. It was not a productive experience for Ginny or the teaching staff.
In contrast at LAC:
Ginny’s expressive language skills have blossomed.
She has an air of confidence about her that I have never seen before. She really enjoys her work and LOVES her peers at LAC.
She has a fierce compassion for people, and worries about them.
It touches my heart to hear her talk about various classmates and her teachers and therapists.
I continue to be in awe of the staff at LAC. Their patience with these students is amazing, and their dedication and commitment to them is palpable. The environment is such a huge improvement from her school last year, I can’t tell you how relieved I was when I walked into the center this past summer.
Many, many thank you’s – and hugs to all of you for what you have done for Ginny. This little girl owns my heart.”

“I have 2 small boys that attend the Lighthouse Autism Center located at 3730 Edison Lakes Parkway, Mishawaka, IN. My boys are 5 and 6 years years old. They have attended this center for the last 12 weeks and have made super remarkable progress!! They received 40 hours of ABA a week. That includes frequent breaks, rewards, and playtime. They love it and so do I. They are at their highest functioning level they have ever been at and keep improving. If you are interested please contact the owner Gregg Maggioli. Please pass this email on to anyone you think my benefit. This is billed through private health insurance.”

“My name is Katy, my daughter Ginny has Autism. She has been at Lighthouse for only a month and I just wanted to take a moment and share a conversation I had with my daughter Ginny. The facts may not be accurate, but the grammar, vocabulary and sentence length and structure just amazed me.
She told me…”Mom, Mary has a dog.” Really Ginny? “Mary’s dog name is Pat.” Then she told me her dog’s name was Lucy. I know the names and the specific facts are not necessarily true but I wish I could have recorded her; you guys would have been thrilled to hear her. So, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone at LAC! This was the most appropriate conversation I have EVER had with my daughter and I’ll never forget it. I’m crying, happy tears of course, just sharing this with you.
Thank you so much for all you and all Gin’s therapist do for her and with her every day.”

“Before Lighthouse, we struggled to get Ally to connect with us. She would only communicate to address her most basic wants and needs. She would rarely even let us sit next to her,” said Ally’s mother. “I am falling head over heels in love with her all over again. I am in heaven playing Barbies and dress up with her! These are all
things a year ago I would have never dreamed we’d be able to do together. We have everyone at Lighthouse to thank for that. This is the first environment where we have seen her thrive and where she has been really happy.”
